| NOTES: | Billy Ball and the Upsetters were one of Naptown's seminal funk bands during the late 60s and early 70s. Most of their recordings were released on Apollo records. However, they did do this particular single for Soul Brothers International, based out of Nashville, TN. The Upsetters still play at the Raincheck every Friday night here in Indianapolis. Many of the original members are still in the band. The upsetters got their name when Billy got one of his earliest gigs in Houston, Mississippi. When the club owner asked him what his name what he was baffled. But a nearby drunk lent a hand when he explained " Yeah Boy! You're gonna upset them tonight?" | |
