Warren Burris and Michelle "Don't You Know" on Rickie Clark's Circle City Records!

Funk Dogg - Godfather of Soul (We Love You) vocal / Instrumental

Allison and Calvin Turner on Lulu - Drive On / You're a Liar, You're a Cheat

Allison and Calvin Turner  on Lulu - After All / Gotta Have my Baby Back

Curtis Walker - That's the way the World Works on BET

Hamilton Movement - We're Gonna Party / Love Man (KILLER SOUL!)

Caesar Frazier - See -F / Make it With you on Easbound (from the astonishing Hail Casesar Lp)

Vanguards on Indie (Rare!) - The Ground You're Walking on is Mighty Shakey) / Woman Come Home

Larry Jackson's Shoe Shoe Shine / Lovin' on Rose Records

Herman George -What Have You Got / Mental High on BET

Sheryl Shay on Indy Records. Nice jazz vocals backed by David Baker!

Robert Turner and the Silver Hearts on the All-Indy label. Pretty good conga-driven gospel with great singing!

Lois Blaine's Stop it Baby. Killer early funky girl stomper. Very nice Lois! I hear there is a second record she recorded on the same label!

Nice funky instrumental - Sound of Naptown. Probably mid 70s (74?) by my ear.

I.U. Soul Revue - Music is Just a Party. Surprisingly good funk (once it gets going) issued by amazingly, the Afro-American Arts Institute. I snoozed on this a year ago, then found it down the street a few weeks ago.

Hamilton Movement - Having a Set (at the Disco) flipped by You're Love.

Little Murray and the Mantics on 700 West records - Goddess Above. Stunning flute-driven female funk with psych influences. If the vocals were mixed better this would be THE killer from the midwest.

Four Sensations - Born Black / Only Love up Ahead (Don't Be Afraid). Currently my favorite record at the stable here - Absolutely amazing! These guys were backed up by the Moonlighters on this one and you can tell. It rivals the other four Blue Eagle Records.

Sort of Bluesy female vocal track with sparse instrumentaion.

People are Fighting / One Morning Soon

Thanks Dante for this one.

Extremely rare and uncharted Funk 45 from Indianapolis. I floated this past a few people and none of the major collectors had ever seen or heard of it. Needless to say a very small pressing. "Mongo Strut" is an instrumental inspired by early Kool and the Gang. Many horn stabs. The flip is a soulfull rendition of Sam Cooke's "A Change is Going to Come". Probably one of the rarest soul bits out of Indianapolis.

I got a crummy copy of Jackson Five's early Steeltown release, "Big Boy". Two copies in fact, both of them worn down to coasters. But at least I got copies.

Great soul from Anderson, Indiana. Thanks to Dante for this strange bit of uptempo soul.

Fourth Room's You Better Do Right. A nice funky instrumental probably intended as part of a public service announcement. This was written by Ed Labunski the man responsible for Budweiser commercial jingles if my memory serves me correctly. Again Dante!

INCREDIBLE SOUL! She's Gone is the best Hamilton Movement song. Hands down.

I have been assured by a major collector here in town that the New Holidays were from Indianapolis and that they recorded on this Detroit label. Nice soul.

The Vanguards second to last record, You're Breaking My Heart backed by the Lamp song Falling Out of Love on Shirley Records.

Uptempo soul with "All the Women I've Wanted" backed by the somewhat meandering "Blue Star raising." This also features The Lady. On the rare Shirley Records.

The great Lois Blaine, this time on Open G records out of New York. This sounds like it was about five years earlier than her A&B release

A real banger on vinyl here. Drums. Flutes. Funky Vocals. What more can you ask for? On the obscure Fort Wayne label, BET. A slower soul cut is featured on the B-side.

Fabulous Souls' rare demo, Deep in the Night.
